Calm Waters

This is the companion image to A Dangerous Port, CLICK HERE. Calm Waters is the complimentary image that is also a photograph the hand water-colored, lithograph and possibly in 1857 by Henry Bill. At this point, I haven’t been able to find the attached name to either watercolor but will update the names once they are found. Map of Russia

http://www.cafepress.com/Russian_Map

This is a photograph of a page found in an antique French encyclopedia; the above and below are two sides to the SAME sheet of paper. The illustration - as found in the encyclopedia - is well over 100 years in age and does have some browning (more on the edges of the paper) but the paper is still flexible. (If interested, the original image is for sale; just add a comment at the bottom of this blog.) To be forwarded the above photograph, CLICK HERE or on the title of this blog.

Rusty

This is part of a series of photos titled Elementals; the concept is what happens to man-made objects if they are not maintained? The concept started with photographing objects made of metal. The above is one example. For other images in the Elemental series, go to MY HOMEPAGE. To be forwarded the above photograph, CLICK HERE or on the title of this blog.

Stratosphere

I like taking abstract images because it is a way for me to push how I photograph things that people often come across. So, what is this? Some say that it's a coffee with flavored milk ... others say that it's Carmel ... and still others say that it looks like marble. What do you think? Add a comment below the photo!

Indian Pipes

Indian Pipes is one of my favorite photographs. What are they? Flowers! They are only a few inches tall, grow in the late summer, and seem almost transparent. This image can be found as a POSTER or on PRODUCTS.
